Wow! Amazing. I've scuba dived in water 27C/49F in heavy wet suit, just barely above the danger zone for thermal related malfunction to my breathing regulator that is not designed for cold water dives, and that pain gives me more appreciation for his accomplishment perhaps - but his naked swim preparation in below 0C/32F air, swimming in water right at freezing, following a rope as his body loses core heat - it all seems impossible. The two safety divers would have been challenged to do anything to help if his body had locked up.
